Pinot Blanc 2024 – Impression is an expressive and at the same time fine wine, inspired by the impressionist image. The aroma is dominated by tones of butter pear, white flowers in the background complemented by delicate white pepper.
The firm and elegant, smooth body has fresh and harmonious acids. The aftertaste is long and mineral with a fine bread finish at the end. Simply an impressionist painter with a rich variety of flavors.
Pinot Blanc Impression is the ideal wine to pair with food. Highly versatile, it pairs well with lighter, delicate dishes such as white fish, salads with creamy dressings, soft cheeses, and roasted chicken
Harvest
Beginning of September. We harvested Pinot Blanc very early. We wanted to preserve the fresh acids in the wine and lower the alcohol content in the wine. Harvested by hand into small crates (18-20 kg) in order to keep the grapes as intact as possible.
Winemaking
The grapes are gently destemmed, crushed and then macerated skins for 7 days in open top vats, with only the gentlest of punchdowns to avoid over-extraction.
The must is moved into barrels while still fermenting. Part of the wine matured 11 month in 300 l French barrels, a combination of oak and agate wood. Part 11 month in 220 l French oak barrels. The wine was not clarified. Noble sediment is a natural part of this wine.
